In the northeast of the MU continent
lies an ancient land once inhabited by a race that built the most advanced
civilization long before any others appeared in MU. Deep underground, they
established a fortress known as Kanturu.
Through
years of research and experimentation for survival in sterile environments,
they advanced in technology, biotechnology, and magical sciences, fueled by the
energy of the magical kingdom Arka.
This led to the creation of the underwater city Atlans, which enabled their expansion.
However,
hidden beneath this prosperity, danger was growing. Using biotechnological
skills, they created new life forms that damaged ecosystems and accelerated the
desertification of Tarkan. Some
of these creatures, possessing human-like or superior intelligence, turned
against their creators. The internal rebellion destabilized Kanturu.
In the year 1010 (Lugard calendar), Kundun rose again and expanded his dark power into Kanturu and Atlans. Due to internal conflict and lack of resources, the Kanturu people could not resist. Their once-glorious civilization fell into ruin and faded into history.
Elpis and the Jewel of Harmony
After
allying with the magical kingdom of Arka, the people of Kanturu continued
researching the essence of life. They aimed to create hybrid life forms by
combining species, using Triumph magic and advanced technology. The core
material was the Jewel of Harmony, but in its raw form, it was unstable
and unusable. The initial creations were flawed or weak.
Years
of experimentation led to the discovery of how to refine the jewel into a
usable form. With this breakthrough, biotechnologist Dr. Jade created an
advanced prototype: ST-X813 – Elpis. Inspired by the goddess Elpis, she
had a feminine appearance and exceptional intellect. Jade considered her like a
daughter. Elpis quickly absorbed Kanturu’s vast knowledge and technology.
Encouraged
by this success, researchers sought to build the ultimate combat lifeform: ST-X814
– Nightmare. However, Nightmare rejected its creators, seized control over
other hybrids, and led a violent uprising.
This
triggered a brutal civil war. Despite many sacrifices, the people of Kanturu
were unable to overcome Nightmare’s strength. The once-thriving civilization
fell into ruin.
